The Premier League will already have five Champions League starting places for the coming season and yet there are still far too many teams pushing behind Liverpool and Arsenal. The fifth starting spot for the next edition of the Champions League is making the rest of the Premier League games truly interesting. Currently, five teams between third and seventh place are battling for a place in the top five. Newcastle is one of them and as currently third, they are in a good position. However, three clubs are immediately behind them and one of them could even overtake them with a win in their last-minute fixture. Newcastle will need a strong finish to be in contention. They have won six of their last seven games, with only one major blunder coming in the 1-4 defeat to Aston Villa. This was not to be expected, given that 18 of Newcastle's own goals were scored in the other six matches mentioned. So, where Newcastle's name is on the line, a total spectacle is often in store. The fact that three of their last five away games have ended without a point isn't particularly positive. They manage to beat Leicester and West Ham which are teams far down the table.
